Core machines

Cores are used to determine the shape of the casting, which cannot be determined with a mold or tool. Foundry cores are used in sand moulds, gravity and low-pressure casting. The basis of the core is sand, which retains the shape of the tool with the help of a chemical binder.

There are various types of core machines on offer. Basically, they can be divided according to production processes:
  • Cold hardening processes: Cold box, CO2, Beta set, etc.
  • Hot hardening procedures: Croning, Hot box
Depending on the configuration of the cores, the machines can be:
  • With vertical tool division
  • With horizontal division
  • Combined
With regard to the necessary capacities of the machines, they are divided into
  • Manually controlled
  • Automatic machines
  • Highly productive multi-station centers.
